Description
Evaluating PACE
You can download a trial version of PACE to install and use for an unlimited period of time. What's the catch you ask? The catch is that the trial version of PACE has intentionally limited capabilities. Other than these limitations, this version of PACE is fully functional and can be activated at a later point, without losing any data, to the full version. The limitations are:
- A record limit of 10 for each table is hard coded. This means you can enter up to 10 staff members, 10 activities, 10 registrations, etc.
- All reports are limited to the first 3 pages.
- All reports will have a watermarks stating "(c) Walker Systems Support, Inc. ** DEMO ** Visit our website at http://www.pace4.com" in various sizes and locations on the various reports. Also, any transcript printed will specifically state "** THIS IS NOT A VALID TRANSCRIPT **".
- You cannot upgrade from a prior full version of PACE to the trial version. But you can install the trial version in a different folder and run the two versions on the same machine.
- A maximum of 2 users can run PACE concurrently (for network installs).
- A reminder dialog will be displayed every time you start PACE.

Sample Data
To help you more quickly evaluate PACE we include a ZIP file with complete sample data that includes staff members, activities and registrations. Once installed you will not be able to add new records (because you'll be over the 10 record limit) but you can edit and delete records and print reports.
After installing the PACE Trial version the ZIP file containing the sample data will be in \PACE\PACE42SampleData.zip. You must extract the files from this archive using WinZIP or another ZIP-compatible application. All of the files must be extracted to the \PACE\DATA\ folder and you must replace all files if prompted. After these files have been extracted, you can start PACE as normal and it will still be a trial version but you will now have data and can immediately print reports.
To remove the sample data and get back to the default, empty tables, simply re-install the trial version.
