Question: What is a database rebuild?

Applies to Version(s): 4.20

Answer: Rebuilding the Database

You may need to perform a database rebuild occasionally to update the table indexes, remove blank records and fix table references. Problems like these can occur when PACE does not shut down properly or from network problems. Indications that you need to rebuild the database include reports that do not sort correctly or do not contain information that you know is present.

  • You can perform a rebuild as often as you like without any ill effects
  • We recommend performing a rebuild once a month
  • When performing a rebuild all other users must be out of PACE
  • PACE will perform and automatic rebuild if it detects an improper shutdown
