New features in PACE 4.2 include:

  • The main window has been redesigned to make navigation among the various screens simpler and more intuitive.
  • One click to change between screens.
  • Windows are resizable and movable.
  • Window sizes and locations are remembered.
  • The last displayed record is remembered for every screen.
  • Double click on a staff member listed in an activity registrant list to automatically open that staff member screen.
  • Double click on a any activity listed on a staff member's registered, earned or presenting tabs to automatically open that activity.
  • The Department and Building screens have been eliminated and combined as separate tabs on the School screen.
  • Department and Building descriptions can be edited directly from the list on the School screen.
  • The District screen has a new tab that displays the schools belonging to that district.
  • Double click on a school in the District screen to automatically open that school's screen.
  • From the Earned CEUs tab of the Staff screen you can now quickly print an unofficial transcript for the displayed staff member by clicking the new "Print" button.
  • The printed report will show the employee ID and not their Soc. Sec. number, and will also clearly state that it is not an official transcript.
  • During registration the system will check for activity conflicts and display a warning if any. You can still override this and allow the registration to be saved.
  • During registration the system will display warning messages if the registrant's continuation date has past, will pass in the next 30 days or if it will pass prior to the completion of the selected activity.
  • Registering staff members for an activity can be done quickly using only your keyboard. You can enter SSN's without the dashes, employee ID numbers and partial or full names.




Reports

  • Inactive Staff Members report has been renamed to "Staff Members with No Activity" to better clarify the reports use. This report shows staff members that have not had any CEU activity over a specified period of time. Whereas a list of Inactive Staff Members can be printed through the "Staff Member List" report and will show all staff members that are not marked as "active" using the new checkbox on the Staff screen.
  • A list of locations (Districts, Schools, Departments and Buildings) can be printed.
  • Several additional Avery label formats have been included. Any report that has a label option can now be printed on Avery # 5162, 5262, 5962, 8162, 8462 in addition to the label formats currently supported.
  • The Activity List report now includes the full Activity description.
  • A "Conflicting Activity Days" report can be printed to show all conflicting activities for which staff members have been scheduled. This report will check dates only, not times since the time field is just text it cannot compare times.
  • An "Expiring Continuation Dates" report will list staff members that have gone or will go past their continuation date.
  • The CSDE form "Description of a Professional Development Activity for CEUs" report can be printed with the activity description, totals hours and CEUs filled in. The remaining items can be easily written after printing.
  • A new report showing CEUs assigned by activity can be printed. This report will show hours, CEUs awarded and will include those who have not yet been awarded CEUs. On reports where the SSN is normally printed you now have the option to print the SSN, nothing or the new Employee ID code. The transcript will always print the SSN.




Other features

  • The system event log will automatically purge records older than 6 months whenever a database rebuild is performed.
  • The Staff and Presenter screen now has a checkbox field for "Active" to indicate whether or not this person is an active or current staff member. This can be used in the various reports to allow you to print for only active, inactive or both.
  • The system will automatically generate an employee ID based on their initials and SSN. Their first and last initials combined with the last four digits of their SSN comprise the new EID. This is visible in the upper right corner of the Staff screen.
  • Many fields and screen elements now have popup help text.
  • The need for the PACE.INI file has been eliminated for simple installations. Network installs may still require a PACE.INI configuration file.
  • A trial version of PACE can be downloaded and used with restrictions for an unlimited amount of time. The limitations prevent entering more than 10 records in any area, reports are limited to 5 pages and all reports will have a “DEMO/NOT VALID” watermark printed on all pages. A trial version can be activated to become a full version without losing any data you have entered.
